History of Solar Energy
In 1955, USA Bell labs succeeded in making solar cells from silicon that is used for outer space activities. It turned out that solar cells proved able to produce a reliable energy. The first satellite that uses solar cells is Vonguard I, which was launched in 1958, and worked very well and longer than expected.
At the beginning of solar cell products used mainly in the framework of space activities. the price of solar cells is very expensive because there is no practical industrial rivals. After going through the process of development then the price of solar cells become cheaper so that it can be made individually.
In a further development of solar cells used to help meet energy needs through small-capacity power plants in units of milli Watt (mW), for example, for a calculator or watch. In some countries the central power station built on a large scale in units of megawatts (MW).
